One word: SCHNITZEL!.

I recently ventured to the famed Figlmüller restaurant in Vienna, a spot so popular it came with a local seal of approval. Trust me, it lived up to the hype! There was a line, as expected, but we only waited about 10 minutes, which flew by. Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the place—it spans three floors, including a basement. The vibes were cool, the aesthetics on point, and we were seated in no time.

We went classic with our order: schnitzel, cucumber salad, and the quintessential Viennese dessert, Sachertorte. The schnitzel was the star—seriously, it was the size of my head and even hung off the plate! The Sachertorte was a delight, perfectly moist and paired with a side of cream, just the way it should be.

Despite not having a reservation, we were seated swiftly and waited a bit longer for our food. But when the schnitzel arrived, it was worth every second. It kind of reminded me of battered chicken/pork but with a unique twist. The Sachertorte was the cherry on top—soft, not too rich, and it melted in my mouth. I left the restaurant full and ready for bed after that unexpectedly huge meal.

The atmosphere and decor were my favorite parts. The place was large, which explained why the queue moved quickly. The staff was friendly, spoke English (a bonus for me), and the service was prompt. Don't forget to grab a complimentary chocolate on your way out—it's a sweet little parting gift.

I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu. For the price, service, and overall experience, Figlmüller is a gem and totally worth it. Plus, did I mention the schnitzel was as big as my head? Unbelievable!
