Spice Village (Southall)

Spice Village in Southall is a British Pakistani restaurant where we ordered butter chicken, chicken Karahi with naan bread, roti, and a mango lassi (drink).

Food:

  • Chicken Karahi: My favourite dish was the well-seasoned and spiced chicken Karahi, reminiscent of tikka masala but with its unique twist capturing the essence of traditional Pakistani cuisine.

  • Butter Chicken: Creamy and flavorful, the butter chicken was a rich and satisfying dish.

  • Naan Bread and Roti: Both the naan bread and roti were freshly made, perfectly complementing the main dishes.

  • Mango Lassi: I highly recommend trying the mango lassi, made with milk, ice, yoghurt, and mango. It was surprisingly creamy, smooth, and very filling.

  • Milk cake: For dessert, I had the milk cake while my friends tried the ice cream, which I believe was Kulfi. Having never tried milk cake before, I was expecting a milk chocolate cake, but it turned out to be quite different from what I anticipated. This light, fluffy, and airy cake was soaked in a special kind of milk, creating a melt-in-your-mouth richness. It was a delightful surprise and has quickly become my new favourite Asian dessert.

Ambience: The restaurant has a charming aesthetic, with a particularly eye-catching gold water jug that adds a stylish touch to the decor. When you visit Spice Village in Southall, don't forget to look up at the birds and appreciate the cool modern decor that surrounds you. The restaurant's ambience enhances the dining experience, adding a unique charm to the delicious British Pakistani cuisine.

Tips:

  • Portions are generous. I shared my meal with two other people and still had leftovers to take home. so sharing is a great idea to avoid having to take leftovers home. Highly recommended!

Overall, I highly recommend Spice Village for its delicious food, delightful ambience, and generous portions.
