Sabiib - Acton (Food Tour Gang)

First time trying Somali food and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! Just like how Italians give bread and the Chinese give prawn crackers, the Somali version of a snack is bananas—how fun is that?

The prices were fantastic, and they treated us to complimentary bananas and soup, which was a lovely touch. There were five of us, and we shared a platter meant for 3-4 people (which we couldn't even finish!). We also got the samosas with some proper sauces that were hands-down one of the best Samosas I’ve tasted—we ordered at least three sets of those and still wanted more, haha.

‘We tried the mango and chicken salad, but it wasn't really to my taste—maybe we expected it to be spicier, as the menu suggested, and more mixed, but one of my friends loved it. I was not used to Mango sauce, it is just not my thing - it has more to do with my taste. The hummus and beef with flatbread (I wish I could remember the exact names) made for a delicious little snack as well.

We left very satisfied with the food, and the total was just £18 each for all five of us, which was a pleasant surprise! The place had a cool, modern atmosphere and the service was quick and lovely. I would definitely recommend it and would come again!
