Tips & Tricks

Ever since reducing the amount of products I consume from the supermarket, I noticed my overall health improved. These are the things I found that helped me along the way to a much cleaner produce. I didn't mention 'healthier' because, well, I'm still figuring that part out! (Go to the journal section of this blog to follow my progress toward a somewhat healthier lifestyle)

Changing and tweaking these parts of your eating habits will help improve your overall gut health.

Some of the changes I made:

• Ugandan/ African Ginger instead of Chinese or regular Ginger
• Maluma or Reed Avocado
• Using Dates as a substitute for chocolate

Ginger and their benefits!

Ugandan/ Indian or Nigerian Ginger has a more intricate look and darker complexion. You would also be able to smell the strong aroma from a way back and that is how you know the ginger is gingering and it will work faster as a healing remedy than most gingers. Stronger in taste (hotness) Ginger contains strong antioxidants and aids your digestive system.

The benefits of Avocados!

These specific kinds of avocados (above) are larger and smoother than your average avocado. Though avocados are known for their fat content, it's the healthy kind! You'll taste the difference with these avocados—their freshness and vibrant colour stay consistent throughout their lifespan. Enjoy a delicious and nutritious treat!

Why Dates Are Awesome!

Dates are a fantastic substitute for sugar because they're naturally sweet. You can use them in desserts to replace chocolates and other sweet treats. Ripe dates have a chewy, soft, caramelised taste that's just delicious. Plus, they're high in potassium and help build muscle. So, they're not just tasty—they're healthy too!
